Newt Spends Day at Work

So little Newt had to hang out with Ian on Tuesday of this week. Elizabeth had appointments to go to and it was far too hot to stay in the car all day. So a good time was had romping around under Ian's feet. Then at the end of the day it was in the backpack (Outward Hound's Special Travel Pack) and on the bicycle for a fun ride home through the city.

There were a few looks from cars at the dog in a backpack and a few curious dogs who couldn't figure out what was barking at them.

Newt's New Buddy Mason

 

Well Newt went to a great Chihuahua party today. Sadly due to snow we were one of the few people that could make the trip, but luckily good old Mason was there. Newt had a blast running, chasing, wrestling, stealing from and generally sniffing Mason. He also seemed to really enjoy Newt in return, especially smelling her ears.

Here is hoping taht future meetups with our new chihuahua friends are on days with better weather. You can't have enough Chi's.

Newt's Pet Peeves

Okay so Newt has to say this. Air Canada are a bad airline. They won't let Newt fly onboard. Westjet on the other hand is really pet friendly and a joy to fly on. Plus Westjet doesn't cancel so many flights like horrible Air Canada does.

In fact I think that all airlines excpet Air Canada allow dogs onboard for a fee.

Bad Air Canada. Bad. Go sit in the corner.

Happy 1st Birthday Newt

 

The 7th of Jan, 2009 was Newt's first birthday. Here is a picture of her with her mom and 2 sisters. Newt is the one hanging out with Mom (Pixie).

Newt's New Coat

Hey a new coat for Newt. With winter here a tiny Chihuahua needs to stay warm. And why not be fashionable while doing it. This handsome Burberry style tartan is sure easy on the eyes and goes so well with Newt's coat and harness. Made locally by Brenda of Brenda's Dog Dudz.

Newt Calls Road Trip "Success"

Well Newt is back, safe and sound in Nova Scotia. All is good in her world. She did seem to enjoy the road trip though. We covered many States and 2 Canadian Provinces (New Brunswick and Nova Scotia). Of all the States Newt enjoyed Maryland and New York State the best. Maine was considered cold and Pennsylvania slightly odd. Perhaps camping the last 2 States did not help her form a good opinion of those places.

We have learned that Newt is generally a trustworthy driver, though may sometimes sleep at the wheel or start to daydream, or even start biting any available noses. We also learned that Newt almost always has the sneaky ability to get into places that dogs aren't supposed to go, such as the beautiful Longwood Gardens . She did not, however, get to enjoy the Walters Art Gallery or Baltimore Aquarium, instead spending the day in luxury at the Petsmart Hotel.

Newt votes Brewster, NY as "An Awesome Place"

Newt is currently on her road trip along the eastern seaboard of America. So far of the many places she has stopped to have a smell of, Brewtser, NY has been voted most awesome. Particularly it is the Citgo gas station that has lead to this great award for Brewster.
